A grant is money given to a certain individual on the basis that he or she should not have to repay. In that respect, it differs from a loan, and does not incur any debt.

Grants are usually given out by foundations. These grants can be either scholarships or donations to non-profit organizations. Many non-profits hire grant writers who assist them with obtaining grant money.

Many grants are available to help with website design and I.T. projects to help bring organizations into the modern age and help develop skills.
